Here, you will find and Q & A for the most frequently asked questions posed to TSR. Got your own questions? Click here to submit them.
| Q: | Why should I register my gear? |
| A: | Protection. Assistance. Community. You have invested a lot of money in your equipment. You should protect it. You should register your gear for the simple fact that should you ever need our free service we can broadcast your "Gear Report" to the entire community. |
| Q: | How much does it cost? |
| A: | FREE! There is never a charge for individual divers to become members. The most you have to invest is the time it takes to gather your gear and enter your make, model and serial numbers. |
| Q: | How does the service work? |
| A: | Registered members have access to the Gear Registration Area. This is the area where you enter all of your information regarding your gear. As you enter this information it sits in your Gear Bag (a virtual collection of all your equipment). Should a piece of gear ever go missing you simply log into your account select "submit report" in the members area and fill in the required information. Your Gear Report is then broadcast to registered members of The Scuba Registry. This includes individual divers and LDS locations affiliated with The Scuba Registry. |
| Q: | What other services do you offer? |
| A: | Gear security is our primary focus but we also offer other services such as a Buddy Search, LDS Search, and the TSR Community. Click the links on the left navigation to find out more about these services. |
| Q: | Where did The Scuba Registry come from? |
| A: | Because we needed it ourselves. We too are divers and in June 2005 we lost some gear and felt there was nowhere to turn for assistance. Knowing the dive community as we do we realized there was a need for this type of service. for the past several months we have been researching and communicating with many of our peers in the community to bring you what we believe is the best service of its kind. |
| Q: | What does The Scuba Registry do with my personal information? |
| A: | The Scuba Registry will NOT share your email address or any personal information with any third party companies. We want to make your online interaction with The Scuba Registry as valuable as possible by working with you to create a website that caters to your needs. To do this, we will collect some personal information online through our membership forms to learn something about you (example: dive experience, level etc), which helps us deliver information that is tailored to your needs. That information will never be shared. |
| Q: | How can I get involved? |
| A: | Simple. Tell all of your dive buddies about our service. Encourage your buddies to become memebers. As our numbers grow we also greatly enhance our chances of recovering missing or stolen gear should any of our members need our services. |
| Q: | My question wasn't answered here, how do I ask a question? |
| A: | This is your site. If you have a comment or question please use the contact TSR page to communicate with The Scuba Registry |
